Women Helping Women provides a wide array of services to residents of Southwestern Ohio.
24-Hour Crisis Line
Specially trained staff and volunteers respond to telephone crisis calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide crisis intervention to sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking victims as well as to offer referrals to appropriate community services. Hospital Accompaniment
Women Helping Women staff and volunteers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide support to rape victims in area hospital emergency rooms.
Individual Crisis Intervention
Women Helping Women provides one-on-one crisis intervention sessions to help victims deal with the immediate after-effects or emerging memories of sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking. Victims needing long-term counseling may be referred to community-based counseling programs or to therapists and counselors.
Court and Law Enforcement Advocacy
Women Helping Women staff and volunteers accompany sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking victims to criminal and civil court daily in Hamilton County, providing advocacy and support. Agency staff also work with the Cincinnati Police Department to provide support, crisis intervention and advocacy to victims during the investigative phase of the case.
Support Groups
Women Helping Women conducts several support groups to help victims cope with the confusion, anger, and fear often experienced after episodes of sexual assault and domestic violence. These groups enable victims to share their experiences and feelings and provide them with support to overcome their fears and feelings of isolation.
Date Rape/Dating Violence Prevention Programs
Women Helping Women offers school-based prevention programs that teach junior and senior high school students about understanding the dynamics of date rape/dating violence. These in-school prevention programs teach students how to identify potentially dangerous situations and give students tools to assist in protecting themselves.
Community Education/Professional Training
Women Helping Women provides training for community law enforcement personnel, health care professionals, social service providers and others who work with sexual assault and domestic violence victims. Staff and volunteers also present programs to civic, church and social groups on the topics of sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking.

Women Helping Women is funded in part by the City of Cincinnati, Hamilton County, United Way of Greater Cincinnati, Victims of Crime Act, Violence Against Women Act and other sources of public and private support.
